Lawson State Community College Celebrates Fall 2022 Graduates During Annual Commencement

Birmingham, AL (12/15/2022) — Lawson State Community College will celebrate the graduating Class of 2022 and guests during the college's Annual Fall Commencement Exercises with a presentation on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the Arthur Shores Fine Arts Gymnasium on the Birmingham West Campus of Lawson State Community College located at 3060 Wilson Road S.W., Birmingham, AL 35221.

Lawson State will confer degrees and certificates on approximately 113 of more than 131 students who have met eligibility requirements for completion. For this commencement, a special presentation will be made by world-renowned artist and Birmingham native, Steve
Skipper, where he will gift artwork celebrating the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday and the crossing of the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma entitled The DNA Ingrained. The college is one of three entities chosen to receive the work.

Lawson State has also partnered with Parchment to offer graduates an official digital version of their diploma. After commencement, graduates will receive an email and text notification with instructions for electronically claiming their diplomas. Graduates are encouraged to celebrate their accomplishments by sharing the digital diploma with family, friends, and colleagues. It can also
be a tool to share with potential employers or for admissions to a four-year institution to kick-start the next step in their journey.

Each candidate for graduation will be permitted tickets for guests to attend. There will not be general admission to the public for this event.

The public is welcome to take part in watching these celebrations of our graduates via live stream:
