Lawson State to Host Annual Career and Community Resource Fair
Bessemer, AL (03/06/2024) — Lawson State Community College will host its Annual Career and Community Resource Fair on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Bessemer Civic Center (1130 9th Ave SW, Bessemer, AL 35022). The event is co-sponsored by Alabama House members, Rep. Patrick Sellers (District 57), Rep. Ontario Tillman (District 56), and Rep. Travis Hendrix (District 55).
The Career and Community Resource Fair aims to connect job seekers with local employers and provide access to valuable community resources. Attendees will have the opportunity to gather information, explore job opportunities, and access free health screenings and wellness checks.
The fair will feature a diverse range of employers from various industries, including the Jefferson County Commission, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Coco-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, PGI Steel, YMCA Central Alabama, The Birmingham Water Works Board, Shipt, ClasTran, Diversicare of Bessemer, Sysco, Vestavia Hills City Schools, Marriott International, FedEx Ground, Birmingham Police Academy, Bessemer Police Department, Birmingham Police Department, Buffalo Rock, Alabama Air National Guard-SGT, and many more.
In addition to the employment opportunities, attendees will have access to free health screenings, including blood pressure, pulse, weight, and pulse oximetry. These screenings aim to promote community well-being and provide valuable health information.
The Career and Community Resource Fair is free and open to the public. Job seekers are encouraged to bring their resumes and take advantage of the networking and employment opportunities available.
